Hi, and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Elizabeth Thompson. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and I’m currently pursuing my Doctor of Education at Johns Hopkins University.

I started my private practice in September 2024, while I was still working in community mental health. Like many pre-licensed counselors, I had to navigate supervision requirements, billing barriers, and confusing Medicaid policies, all while learning how to run a business.

Now, less than a year later, I have a full waitlist, a thriving private practice, and a deep passion for helping other early-career clinicians do the same without burning out or getting lost in the paperwork.

📚 What This Course Is (and Isn’t)

This is a fully text-based course with structured lessons, step-by-step walkthroughs, screenshots, and resources. There are no videos, so you can move at your own pace and return to exactly what you need.

You’ll find:

  • Practical guidance written in plain language

  • Medicaid and insurance billing steps

  • Templates, scripts, and real-world tools I personally use

  • A clear roadmap to help you launch (or grow) your practice legally and confidently

This Course Is For You If You Are...

  • An LPCA in Kentucky wanting to accept clients and possibly insurance

  • Not sure how to bill under your supervisor (or how to find one)

  • Trying to figure out forms, modifiers, and Medicaid MCOs

  • Overwhelmed with business details like taxes, rates, or documentation

  • Passionate about building a private practice that aligns with your values

You don’t have to wait until you’re fully licensed to do meaningful work. You can build a solid, compliant, and fulfilling practice starting right now with the right systems, support, and supervision.

Let’s get started.
